Reviews
I was thinking between 5 and 4 stars but picked 4 at the end because it wasn’t too impressed with a 5 yet.
Good: the restaurant is very cozy, nicely decorated and organized. You can really see the difference compared to other fine dining restaurants. Also the staff is very nice.
Need improvement: the music from the bar area was too loud, the whole time we were there it’s all DJ style. The tables are too close to each other, which also makes it look too busy with the servers walking back and forth. The food was just at ok level for the price of $70-$90 of a 12-16oz steak. The steak was overall good, but not a wow. It was at the border of too salty. I also ordered crab fried rice and they put too much soy sauce in it.
Will I come back? Maybe.
J-Prime Steakhouse provided an exceptional dining experience. The outstanding food and customer service made our visit memorable. The waiter was friendly and kind, ensuring a pleasant experience, while the manager personally attended to our table, displaying amazing respect and service. The well-timed servings enhanced the overall enjoyment, and the steaks and caviar were superb. Even the small flavored ice and cake, which I usually don't eat, surprised me with their deliciousness. Overall, the experience with both the manager, waiter, and the food deserves a solid 5-star rating. Thanks to manager Francisco Lopez-Gonzalez!
It was worth every penny. Everyone in my party was more than delighted with their meals. I ordered the lamb chops as an entree bf it was definitely some of the best lamb chops I’ve ever had. The crab fried rice was also divine! Perfectly seasoned, savory and flavorful.
The drinks were good too but the steaks are the highlight
A first time for me here. For the price point, not impressed. The escargot was like eating pure salt. The dressing on the salad was overwhelmed with mustard. The biscuits like eating cheese bites. Though the steak was perfectly cook and presented, it was also slightly overdone with salt.
The wait staff seem to be in a constant state of confusion. Consistently delivering the wrong items to the wrong people.
Major brownie points to the decor. And a a surprise serving of intermezzo. Intermezzo is a palate cleanser and I wish more restaurants would do it.
Starting from the moment you walk in, J Prime is a phenomenal experience! Staff is swift and knowledgeable in every aspect. Hunter was our server, he had great charm and even better recommendations. He pointed us in the direction of the land and sea dinner for two which was cooked to perfection.
Overall, I cannot speak highly enough about the manager on duty, Manuel. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine passion for creating a memorable dining experience made my birthday visit truly exceptional. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
So happy we spent our anniversary dinner here. The staff did a phenomenal job making our anniversary special. Our server made excellent food recommendations and the entire team provided great service. Everything from our entrees to family-sized sides to dessert/coffee were excellent!
Excellent service and all around experience !! They made us feel like VIP from the moment we walked in. Someone was always asking us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Even the GM chris served us himself and brought us hot towels to clean out hands at the end of dinner. Our waiter Eddie was excellent !! The lobster bisque is A MUST!! Amazing experience for our date night , we will be back again!
There are a lot of steakhouses downtown, there’s actually one across the street from J-Prime but does it stand out from the rest? I’d say no. We went for restaurant week and though the food was okay, it wasn’t special enough that we’d pay regular price for it. Good amount of cocktails on the menu and good soup but that’s about it. I ordered my steak medium well and my boyfriend ordered his medium and mine was way bloodier but I’m not one to send it back. The vibe is also very club like and not old money like Vince Young’s or Eddie V’s. Also skip the dessert.
TLDR: If you’re looking for a new age steakhouse I’d say pass on J-Prime and head to Dean’s.
